Levels: Intermediate/Late Intermediate (Gr 5-7)
With a swing beat giving the feel of waves, Terzo introduces this piece with it's jazzy, blues harmonies and syncopated rhythms. Melodic interest is shared among all three players and the level of difficulty is equal for all partners.
Don't Bug Me!

Categories: Piano Duets
Levels: Elementary/Early Intermediate (Gr 1-4)
From Lady Bug and Friends Both players want to play the primo and partway through the piece secondo decides to go for it, moves up the bench and shoves primo off! Primo has to run to the other end and finish playing the lower part It's good practice for each partner to learn both parts and ensures that both master the rather tricky rumba rhythm. It's also lots of fun and can be "hammed up" to great effect.

Mechanical Man
Beverly Porter
Categories: Piano Duets
Levels: Elementary/Early Intermediate (Gr 1-4)
This would be fun to play as a first ensemble with an equal partner.
Mechanical Man has to be wound up before he'll move. Halfway through he slows down, stops and has to be wound up again. Secondo plays in a stationary position and though Primo moves for the middle section it isn't difficult. Highly patterned.

Levels: Elementary/Early Intermediate (Gr 1-4)
The lilting, tango rhythm is introduced and played throughout by the lowest part with both harmonic and melodic interest for the middle player. Primo adds counter melodies and the sound of castanets in the high register. Rhythmic accuracy is essential for all partners especially after the quarter rests that punctuate the pulse.
